California State University San Marcos Selects ProjectEDGE

06/10/04 - California State University San Marcos selects ProjectEDGE to provide electronic project management tools for their Business Building project.

San Marcos: California State University selects ProjectEDGE’s web-based project management system to track, manage, and coordinate workflow processes. The University will rely upon ProjectEDGE’s quick overview ability to head off any project challenges before an issue becomes a cost or schedule problem.

Additionally, the paperless, collaborative aspects of the searchable project database will allow for increased efficiencies in the design/concept programming through construction management and project close out. The Project team looks forward to taking advantage of how ProjectEDGE's web-based project management system will allow the University to expedite, record and control communication amongst team members and all interested parties.

The contract for construction of a new $20.5 million building for the College of Business Administration at California State University San Marcos has been awarded to C. E. Wylie Construction Company of San Diego. The project will have 22 classrooms, 88 faculty offices and nine administrative offices, including the office of the college dean. In addition to business, the departments of communication, economics and political science will be housed in the structure. It is to be located just south of the existing Academic Hall and Palm Court. The architect is A. C. Martin of Los Angeles, who designed the Graduate School of Business for USC. Funding for $3.4 million worth of equipment was included in Prop. 55, which was approved by California voters in March, 2004. Construction has begun and the project is expected be complete in late 2005.

Said Gary Craig “We are pleased that CSUSM has again selected ProjectEDGE to manage the planning, design and construction of their facilities. In today's environment where more organizations are doing more with less, we appreciate San Marco's commitment to ProjectEDGE as a valuable tool to help them better manage their capital improvement projects.
